General informations:

Trimer fatty acid is an oleochemical carboxylic acid mixture formed by the linking of unsaturated fatty acids. Chemically, it is typically a mixture consisting mainly of C54 trifunctional fatty acids, along with portions of C36 difunctional fatty acids and residues of monomer fatty acids. It therefore belongs to the product group of fatty acids / dimer and trimer fatty acids.

Trimer fatty acids are usually highly viscous to syrup-like, amber-colored liquids with high acidity and distinctly hydrophobic properties.
