Methyl cocoate is a collective term for fatty acid methyl esters derived from coconut oil (“Fatty acids, coco, Me esters”). Public databases list CAS number 61788-59-8 for this substance and describe it as a UVCB mixture, meaning it is not a single, precisely defined pure substance.

It is a liquid raw material fraction obtained by transesterification of coconut oil fatty acids with methanol. Synonyms include “Coconut oil fatty acids, methyl esters” and “Coco fatty acids methyl esters.”
