General informations:

Calcium stearate is insoluble in water and insoluble in most solvents.
Melting point/melting range: 130–156 °C
Calcium stearate is a so-called lime soap, as the salt of stearic acid.
Compared with waxes, calcium stearate has a relatively high softening point and does not smear at elevated temperatures.
